In drilling poles – we generally use a car or ship auger bit and auxiliary chuck mounted on the impact gun. That's how they are meant to be used. Not true.That said, for normal use these drill bits will last much longer than normal drill bits. There may be some "do-it-all" hammer drills with clutches similar to cordless drills, but any heavy duty hammer drill for serious use in masonry will not have a clutch.
I do not want to break the heads off of the bolts. While the battery pack is not compatible with their old 18 volt line the battery voltage is the same and in Europe DeWalt doesn't use the 20V brand for their new So, my "review" of impact drivers is, love 'em, . . . I have striped many screws trying to get this amazing tool to work in every situation.
Let me tell you, that?s all it is. I have never used it in a woodworking application though, and I can't really think of a reason to use it in the shop.
